Copper Differences
Copper metallic guttering is only painted to look like copper, thus it does not patina as normal copper does. If you prefer the shiny new look of copper this may be the best choice for you.
This copper was allowed to patina naturally. The patina is what gives copper the dull color and green highlighting effect commonly seen on older buildings. This causes copper to not be as flashy and blend in better with the color of the house or building.
A finish can be applied to copper to cause it to patina quickly. This dulls it faster and gives a rustic look almost immediately. If you don't want to wait for the natural process this would be the way to go.
